Can this unit be used assembled as shown on carpeted floors?

ExecMemberMike said...

Hi @John, if the Ember Hearth Electric Media Fireplace is shown on a carpeted floor, I would think that it would be okay to be placed on a carpeted surface in any home.

Anyone know the width and height of the center top opening?

Just purchased this yesterday at $499, after an $150 manufacturers rebate! I'm located in San Diego.
Looks pretty good!

Hello @SDPrrt, thanks for letting us know about the updated price for the Ember Hearth Electric Media Fireplace. You definitely got the Ember Hearth Electric Media Fireplace for a great price. I'm sure the price drop was as a result of the Black Friday deals that have been going on. Hopefully, a lot of Costco members were able to take advantage of the lower prices at Costco.

Anonymous said...

Where did u find the rebate? I couldn't find it in the Costco coupon book...

Scott said...

I got the same deal in PA. Question though; anyone figure out how the heater works? I don't see a difference in high or low heat. And when I hit the temperature +/- button nothing seems to happen? The display changes, but no more heat.

Unknown said...

Anyone have the paperwork that comes with the fireplace? I don't have the remote or the paperwork and I need to contact the manufacturer to get a new remote. Thanks!

Could someone that received the discount please send me a picture of their complete receipt? aflcardsATgmailDOTcom

love to find that rebate......anyone ?

Anonymous said...

Would you kindly provide the rebate info? Thanks in advance.

Looking at purchasing this as well in Wisconsin. Does the heater have a fan, and did anyone get the rebate coupon?

Hi, Can anyone roughly describe the assembly of this. I really want to know if I can open the box in my suv and carry it in piece by piece or do I have to round up some help and carry it in in one big box? Thanks, for any info you can post.

Anonymous said...

there is one main big piece that is almost the entire size of the box and that you will need help getting in, and if you have the help then you might as well carry it all in one go.

Hi @SDPrrt
Can you let me know how I can get the $150 manufactrers rebate. Any info appreciated. Also are you happy with the fireplace?

What does it weigh ?

Does anyone from Ember Hearth answer questions ,on this so called comment section? It appears to be people looking for help. Makes me wonder how helpful customer service is.

Got the last one. Missing tow trim pieces... Very disappointed!

And NO instructions. No brainier assembling, just missing those TWO trim pieces on the top section! Put it together anyway, wish we knew who to call for those pieces?

ExecMemberMike said...

Hello @Wcnasfan, that's unfortunate to hear that the Ember Hearth Electric Media Fireplace that you got from Costco was missing those two pieces. You may be able to go to Costco's customer service desk or call them, give them the product info of the item that you bought, and ask for the manufacturer's contact information. Hopefully, they can give you their phone number, so that you can request the missing pieces. Good luck!

To buyers of this fireplace I ask the following . Do you like the looks, and functionality of this product? Any problems during assembly ? Was customer service helpful ?

Wcnasfan said...

Other than my issues above, great piece of furniture! Heater works great too. Easy to assemble and I didn't even have directions.

Unknown said...

I really love this piece. But I would love to pay less then the $649 price. How and where can I get a rebate coupon?

Chopwater said...

ExecMemberMike said...

Hi @Don, if you can't find the contact info for the manufacturer for the Ember Hearth Electric Media Fireplace, you can always go to the customer service desk at Costco and let them know the product and they should be able to give you the appropriate contact information for the manufacturer.

Unknown said...

Can you get parts if needed for this product ???

Unknown said...

Hi Don , here is a number for the manufacturer customer service .
!-877-264-3373 hope this helps. Is on the front of our manual.

Unknown said...

Hi Chopwater, I was told by my local Costco that it is a discontinued item. You might see if they can check to see if any other Costco's have any left ?

Unknown said...

Does anyone know if I purchase this from my local Costco if they will ship it for me?

Unknown said...

Chopwater I found it in store in Fredericksburg VA

Serpyfire said...

Purchased mine after the holidays at Costco in NJ. for $340 because it was the last one, display. It had several nicks on the front top and bottom, no box, manual or remote. They did tell me also that it was a discontinued item. The one they have on the website now to me is a nice piece with the few differences but I like I purchased more.

ExecMemberMike said...

Hi @Serpyfire, it sounds like you got a really good deal for the Ember Hearth Electric Media Fireplace even if it was the display model. You definitely lucked out.

Anonymous said...

Hi @Serpyfire, How did you carry it home? Did you disassemble it? Thanks.

Unknown said...

So, don't sweat this one guys, because I got mine all put together and immediately started having trouble with it. Now I have to take this heavy pain in the ass back to Costco because the customer service of the manufacturer sucks.

ExecMemberMike said...

Hi @Andrew, that's awfully disappointing to hear that the Ember Hearth Electric Media Fireplace that you got has been causing a lot of problems. It's a good thing Costco has a good return policy, and I hope you get a full refund.

SDPrrt said...

Hello All!
So for the rebate, it was just an in-store manufacturers rebate in San Diego, CA. I don't have any other info in regards to that...
Now, the fireplace...
Its heavy... need at least 2 strong ppl to move it. You need a truck to pick it up. I recommend assembly on a piece of box so you can slide it into place. Now, the original one I bought, the touchscreen stopped working. All I could use was the remote, and with a 1 year old, sometimes those remotes go missing, and would really like to have the option to operate it from the touchscreen. I called costco, they had one left to do an exchange - but, we had to move the old one back, pick up the new, and assemble all over again. The new one was missing 1 screw - didnt ruin the funx or the asthetics..but would have been nice to have all the parts. And, wouldn't you believe, this touchscreen did not work from the beginning! UGH! I am not returning this one again...
So, to sum it up:
PROS: Looks great; the material is not cheap; the LEDS look realistic; plenty of storage w/o that storage unit look. Heater has 2 levels (H and L) and the L level does not get hot (but if you have kids, careful w/ the H level). Looks great w/ a 55in screen! Heat turns off when temp is reached. No funny smells.
CONS: That Touchscreen - 0/2 units w/ a faulty touchscreen. 2nd unit had missing screw; very heavy; takes roughly 2 hours to put together; need a truck to transport.

Received as a gift, missing parts. Do not have receipt, anyone know how to get missing parts?

ExecMemberMike said...

Hello @SDPrrt, sorry for not responding. I don't know how I didn't see your review and it's been almost a year. Anyway, thank you for sharing your thoughts and your experience with the Ember Hearth Electric Media Fireplace. After several months, I hope that it's at least working out for you at this point.

ExecMemberMike said...

Hello @Ann, you may want to call Costco to see what they can do for you. Who knows? You may be able to exchange it like what @SDPrrt did. If Costco can't help you, try giving the manufacturer a call to try to obtain the missing piece that you need. Good luck!

How much does this weigh? I saw this at Anchorage, Alaska Costco and want to ship it to Bush Alaska. Can someone please answer the question?

ExecMemberMike said...

Hi @Anonymous, unfortunately the box for the Ember Hearth Electric Media Fireplace does not indicate the exact weight of the product. You can try calling Costco and perhaps they can tell you the shipping costs to have it delivered to Bush, AK.

Unknown said...

Is it ok to put this fireplace under your tv because would love to hang my tv over the fire place.

ExecMemberMike said...

Hello @Unknown, I would think that it would be ok to put a tv above the Ember Hearth Electric Media Fireplace since the actual box itself shows a picture of a tv directly placed on the mantel.

Unknown said...

Does anyone have a manufacturer model number? (Not the Costco stock number)

I know that you can control it using bluetooth via iPhone with the "Ember Hearth 2017" app from the app-store.

I'd love to create "remote control" recipe of it for my Harmony remote, hence the need for a mfr.model #
