Gift giving is always a challenge for me during the holidays. It's hard to shop for certain friends and family. That's why I like to take advantage of the deal at Costco for See's Candies Certificates. You get certificates good for 2 lbs of chocolates. This comes in handy because I usually buy a few of these certificates and use them to buy several 1 lb boxes (or canisters) of chocolates at See's Candies and distribute them to friends for Christmas. People in general love chocolate, so why not give it to them as a gift? My friends love the See's I give them, especially the ones visiting from the East Coast because I don't think there are any See's locations over in that part of the country. You not only give people a good box of chocolates, but you're able to save money (about $3 per pound) at the same time because a pound of See's candies when you go there usually costs about $18. If you get these See's certificates, a pound of chocolate will end up being cheaper when you buy the certificate from Costco and redeeming it at your local See's shop. So I usually buy several boxes of chocolates using these 1 pound certificates at Costco for various friends, family, coworkers, or anyone who I want to give a gift to but just don't know what to give. Apparently, other people seem to have the same idea since See's usually has a long line during the holidays and I see many people paying using these same certificates. I end up saving a good amount of money with these certificates from Costco since I give out a lot of boxes of chocolates every Christmas and maybe get a box or two for myself. It's a win for everyone when they get chocolates (truffles, almond royal, etc.) and I get to save a few dollars.
