Store and chill your bottles of wine the right way with the Vinotemp VT-28TS 28-Bottle Wine Cooler available at Costco. If you’re like me, then you don’t have a whole lot of room in your refrigerator. Those to-go containers and gallons of milk take too much room that nothing is left for wine bottles which also take up a lot of space. The Vinotemp VT-28 is also pretty compact so it can be placed in a kitchen or family room. It also looks well-built and nicely designed. It comes with 6 wired shelves for wine bottles and a 7th shelf for additional storage. With a temperature range of 39 to 65 degrees and the dual pane window, the Vinotemp 28-Bottle Wine Cooler VT-28 TS ensures your wine stays cool, just the way you like it. If you plan on getting one of these, then you can definitely take advantage of the deal Costco has when you buy 6 bottles of wine. If you need a larger capacity wine cooler, then check out the Vinotemp VT-155SBB which can hold 140 bottles of wine or the more versatile Tresanti Thermoelectric Wine Cooler & Cabinet.

I just bought one of these a couple of weeks ago. It is critically important to bring a vehicle that is tall enough to transport this vertically and not to tip it over in t loading/unloading process. As I understand it, if it's tipped or carried on the side, the oil can flow out of the compressor and block the evaporator. Not good.

Hi @Anonymous, thank you so much for offering some great advice for transporting it home. Those thinking about getting the Vinotemp wine cooler will definitely find it useful. Thanks!

I'm looking for ratings on this model. Any performance problems? Cooling? Thanks in advance.

Hi @Anonymous, I haven't heard of many complaints regarding the Vinotemp wine cooler. Plain and simple, it does its job in keeping wine bottles cool at a certain temperature. If you do experience any problems with the cooler, at least Costco has a good return policy in case something comes up.

Hi @Anonymous, if you read the article you would have learned that this product does not have a compressor and there is no oil in it to block the evaporator. Transport it any way you please. Source- certified HVAC tech.

I looked at this unit at my local Costco, and it's not a thermoelectric unit. It in fact has a compressor.

Hello @Anonymous, yes you're correct - it has a compressor and not a thermoelectric unit. I updated the post accordingly. The old information was for a different Vinotemp model. Thanks for letting us know.

I just bought one yesterday, 9/25/2015 at the Henderson NV Costco for $200. Apparently Vinotemp makes several 28-bottle wine cellars, all with very similar model numbers. Costco stores only has one of them, which is the VT-28TS. This model isn't even listed on Vinotemp's website. Some of the other 28-bottle units have variations of the model number (e.g. VT-28TEDS, VT-28TSBM, etc.). Online at Costco.com shows that they used to sell the VT-28TEDS model, but are no longer selling it. From what I've seen, all of the other Vinotemp 28-bottle units are thermal-electric coolers. This particular one at Costco has a compressor. You can see it at the back of the unit. As with anything that has a compressor, you need to keep it upright while transporting it. And you must let it sit for up to 24 hours before plugging it in. You can plug it in sooner, but that may shorten the life of the compressor.

Hi @Unknown, thanks for letting us know that the Vinotemp VT-28TS 28-Bottle Wine Cooler is also available at the Costco in Henderson, NV and thanks for clearing up any confusion in regards to this model and its compressor. Costco members thinking of getting this same wine cooler will definitely find this useful when purchasing and transporting it home.
