[Scroll down to view product info]

Every desk should be well lit with the proper lighting in order for you to work efficiently and comfortably. I know I can't work under dim and dark conditions. That's why you should consider the UltraBrite LED Desk Lamp (model SL9067-2) from Costco either for your home office or your desk at work. This desk lamp will make your work station nice and bright, so you don't strain your eyes when reading documents and your computer screen. What's great about the UltraBrite SL9067-2 LED Desk Lamp is that is has two usb ports, so you can easily charge your mobile devices like tablets and smartphones. What I like about this desk lamp over old school desk lamps from back in the day is that they use LEDs over traditional light bulbs. I remember having a traditional desk lamp with a 30 watt light bulb and it just got too hot since it was so close to my face. You won't have that issue with the UltraBrite LED Desk Lamp. The UltraBrite LED Desk Lamp is great for either your desk or even a nightstand.

Light works great. USB ports are worthless. Neither one will charge my iPhone

Hello @Uknown, that's good to hear that the UltraBrite SL9067-2 LED Desk Lamp is working out for you. It's just a shame that the usb ports are pretty much useless, but as a light, it's good that it performs as expected.

So frustrated. Lamp won't turn on.. have tried multiple outlets but lamp wont turn on...will be returning tomorrow. Really wanted to like this....

havent had it more than 6-8 weeks and it is so dim It doesnt change anymore and has been flickering since I got it

Hi @Unknown, ya you shouldn't have any problem returning your UltraBrite LED Desk Lamp (model SL9067-2) for a full refund if you got it at Costco. Costco has a pretty good return policy when it comes to defective units.

ExecMemberMike said...

Hello @Anonymous, that's just weird that your UltraBrite SL9067-2 LED Desk Lamp is dim and flickering. Hopefully, it's just an isolated incident and not a trend with these UltraBrite LED Desk Lamps. Either way, you should probably return in since it sounds like you got a lemon.

How do i turn it on ? No directions in the box and when i touch the buttons on the light it just starts flashing !!

ExecMemberMike said...

Hmmmm, that's weird @Unknown. Maybe the UltraBrite LED Desk Lamp that you got is a lemon and is defective. Try returning and exchanging it for another.

my usb ports wont recognize anything...tried multiple devices with multiple cords...now this is an expensive desk light.

ExecMemberMike said...

Hello @habfan73, it looks like the usb ports for the UltraBrite LED Desk Lamp (model SL9067-2) just aren't made very well. It's a good thing you can just return it for a full refund if you got it at Costco.

Got the lamp and it works fine. the USB ports works great and I like being able to charge my work phone right at my desk. Mine came with instructions and you can find them online also

The lamp was working for likee 5 days and now it starts blinking whenever its on?

ExecMemberMike said...

Hi @Anonymous, that's great you're making good use out of your UltraBrite SL9067-2 LED Desk Lamp. Ya, what's so cool about that lamp is the convenience of being able to charge your smartphone or any other mobile device without necessarily having a computer around.

ExecMemberMike said...

Hello @Anonymous, that's strange that your UltraBrite LED Desk Lamp (model SL9067-2) is blinking after only a few days. You should probably return it and exchange it for another one or get a full refund.

I just got the lamp yesterday for my kid, good I decided to plug it on and try it.
Well like others, it just keep flickering, it wouldn't work the way it is supposed to. Looks like too many lemons!! Appears to be a bad product that Costco has got involved in.

ExecMemberMike said...

Hello @Anonymous, it's a good thing you checked your UltraBrite LED Desk Lamp (model SL9067-2). Ya, I agree that it seems like Costco just chose the wrong product to sell even though it seemed like a very good product on paper.

Anonymous said...

Bought two....both have same issue, power cord into lamp does not work. You need to tug on where it connects to make it work. Will be returning to Costco. Really wanted it to work. Don't buy.

ExecMemberMike said...

Hello @Anonymous, thanks for sharing your experience with the UltraBrite SL9067-2 LED Desk Lamp. Hopefully, the manufacturer can make some improvements in these lamps for future models.

Another lemon, keeps flashing lights and it's very disappointing. Was gonna be a Christmas gift for my husband.

ExecMemberMike said...

Hi @Anonymous, it's a good thing you checked UltraBrite LED Desk Lamp (model SL9067-2) before giving it to your husband for Christmas. Ya, it's a bummer that this manufacturer is pretty good at making lemons instead of led desk lamps.

Loved the look, design and functionality of the Ultrabrite SL9067-2 so much I bought 3. Unfortunately, all 3 going right back. The connector from the AC/DC converter into the lamp is faulty on all 3. One of the will light by turning and jiggling the connector, but this is clearly a faulty part. It is a shame that a part which costs less than $0.01 ruins this potentially very useful product. Do not buy until Costco and manufacturer confirm that this product is fixed.

Unknown said...

What a terrible product. I made the same stupid mistake and liked this lamp that appeared cool and functional. Worked once (apparently by accident) when we first plugged it in. No amount of patience or coaxing would get it to work a second time. What an embarrassing gift. It managed to make my kid feel bad for Christmas too. _Not_ cool. Gets returned to Costco _tomorrow_ and by the look of this comment section, with a question about what testing they do before they put something on their shelves.

ExecMemberMike said...

Hello @Anonymous, that sucks that all three of your UltraBrite SL9067-2 LED Desk Lamps were faulty. Yes, I agree that the manufacturer and Costco has to address these issues since this product does seem like a very good idea on paper. It's quite unfortunate that the manufacturer just couldn't make a good enough lamp as its finished product.

ExecMemberMike said...

Hello @Dimwitland, sorry to hear that the UltraBrite LED Desk Lamp you got for your child turned out to be a dud and the fact that it put a damper on Christmas just makes it all the more worse. Hopefully your kid got enough presents on Christmas to make up for it.

Bought Ultrabrite SL9067-2 lamp during summer 2016 at Costco. By November 2016 the lamp stopped working. The power adapter died so no power to lamp. Lamp has warranty so I called 877 654-1991 for a replacement power adapter. I am waiting for the replacement power adapter. Lamp is good. Let's hope the second power adapter works.

ExecMemberMike said...

Hi @Anonymous, thanks for sharing your thoughts on the UltraBrite LED Desk Lamp. Thank you for providing the phone number to the manufacturer's customer service. I'm sure those who have had issues with this lamp will find this number quite helpful. Ya, I hope the replacement power adapter they send you is good, so that you can have your lamp back up and running in no time.

I just need instructions. I know it has different settings, but can't seem to find a way to change them. I assume the "M" means memory, but how do you set it

My husband bought the lamp for his office but I borrowed it and never returned it to him. The light works all the time and have charged my fitbit and Samsung tablet (both fully charged). Feeling so guilty that I am going to buy him one.

ExecMemberMike said...

Hi @Jane, so you "borrowed" your husband's UltraBrite LED Desk Lamp? You could always say that you were just testing it for him...haha. Anyway, at least he's going to get a brand new one, and you end up with a lamp that is working out well for you. It sounds like a win-win for both of you.

How do I get the blue light to turn off? I have pressed the on/off button at the base of the lamp and still the blue light shines. It is so bright it lights the room at night which is not good for sleep.

Unknown said...

Mine was the same. Thought cool, worked for a little bit. Now it's like it's possessed. Cycling through different light intensifies and all light colours. 🙄

ExecMemberMike said...

Hello @Kim, in regards to the UltraBrite LED Desk Lamp, it is definitely a good concept. Unfortunately, the execution on this product was done poorly due to the number of issues buyers have encountered. Try returning your lamp for a full refund. If not, maybe you should call a priest to perform an exorcism on your possessed lamp.

Please tell me why Costco is still carrying this product (June 2017). Just bought Model#SL9066 and so wanted to love it like everyone else. But of course it does not work like so many before it. SUPER DISAPPOINTED in the lamp and in Costco for carrying a product that is a piece of crap.

ExecMemberMike said...

Hello @Unknown, Costco must have a surplus of these UltraBrite LED Desk Lamps. Costco is pretty good at carrying good products, and it's so unlike them to carry poor quality items. I guess they make up for it with a good return policy that is better than most retailers.

Anonymous said...

Also bought the SL9066 which is an updated model that includes a bladeless fan in the center of the lamp. The fan is a little noisy, but the light works great. However, just like with the complaints for the previous version, neither of my USB ports work. I really like the lamp and want this to work, so I will return it and give it another try. Hope I find a non-lemon!

ExecMemberMike said...

Hi @Anonymous, that sucks that the newer model to the UltraBrite LED Desk Lamp (model SL9067-2) still has some of the same issues, but I do hope that the new one that you'll be getting works well and doesn't have any flaws.

Flickering seems to be caused by poor connection of the charger plug at the wall outlet. Try squeezing the prongs together a bit (not much). I seems to work for me. It happened twice now in 8 months and both times I unplugged it and squeezed the prongs together a bit and that was enough to fix the problem.

That said, perhaps people are having different reasons for the flickering.

ExecMemberMike said...

Thanks for the tip, @Disperser. For those people who are experiencing issues with their UltraBrite LED Desk Lamp, it might be worth trying because who knows? It might just work for them the way it worked for you.

Anonymous said...

After turning the light off it sometimes come back on all by it self. What's up with that? Today I turned it on to my desired brightness and it went up to the next level without me touching it.

ExecMemberMike said...

Hi @Anonymous, that's strange that your UltraBrite LED Desk Lamp is behaving like that. Either your lamp is acting up or you have a friendly ghost just messing with you.

Unknown said...

I agree with @Anonymous on March 10th. I cannot get the blue light on the front to turn off. The whole room lights up at night even when the light is off. This is a critical flaw. If there is not a way to turn off the light, I will return it to Costco. It's a shame, because I really like the light. The light modes and usb ports work great.

ExecMemberMike said...

Thank you @Joey for your review on the UltraBrite LED Desk Lamp. Ya I can see why the little blue light can be annoying when trying to sleep especially if that person is sensitive to noise and or light at night or is just a light sleeper. I wonder if a piece of electric tape would do the trick to block the light. Yes, it might be a bit unsightly, but it may just work. It might be good enough if you're happy with everything else about the lamp and don't want to deal with having to return it.

Unknown said...

I have 10 of these lamps and several of the cords no longer work. where can I get replacement cords?

Unknown said...

Mine is garbage too. It worked long enough for me to not have the receipt anymore. Purchased at Costco

ExecMemberMike said...

The UltraBrite LED Desk Lamp does seem like a good idea, but unfortunately it doesn't seem to be made very well.

Anonymous said...

We purchased this lamp from Costco. The light turns on all by itself...usually in the middle of the night. (It is in our bedroom) I think this is a SAFETY issue so will be returning this item to Costco!!

ExecMemberMike said...

Yes, the lamp turning on by itself is definitely a cause for concern especially if it's an electrical issue. It's better to be safe and just return it to Costco.

Anonymous said...

We also got this from Costco (probably in 2017-2018, can't find the receipt) and put it in a spare guest room since then with 20hrs at most per year! Guess what? It died 3 months ago. No power, no LED light indicators at the base...Nada....! What a waste of $$$. Think Costco will take it back since it is a while, though the lamp is advertised lasting 35,000 hrs!!!

ExecMemberMike said...

Hi @Anonymous, I think you may still be able to return your UltraBrite LED Desk Lamp even without the receipt. Costco may still have a record of your purchase. Or what you could do is before bringing the defective item, explain to them the situation and ask if they would accept the return. You wouldn't be the first person returning a product bought from Costco without a receipt. Good luck!
