Any normal toaster will have slots that are too narrow for even English muffins let alone a bagel. You've been there before....the toast is done but it doesn't pop up high enough for you to grab it with your finger tips. So you take a butter knife and fish the toast out of the toaster...probably not a good idea especially if the toaster is still plugged in. But the Cuisinart RBT-875PC Countdown 4-Slice Toaster has 4 wide self-adjusting toasting slots so it can hold thick bagels or any normal slice of bread. This toaster has one cool feature that reduces heat on one side of the slot to allow the cut side of the bagel to be toasted slightly more. We've had our toaster for years.
