If you haven't booked your vacation for summer yet, there's still time. Planning a vacation can be tedious at best with all the research and logistics. If you want to have a mini-vacation without all that work, I would recommend going to Catalina Island. Catalina Island is far enough that you can get away from work and home, yet close enough to LA and the Southern California region so that it's easy to get to. You don't even have to spend any of your vacation days from work when you could just spend a weekend on Catalina Island. Costco has a deal where you can save 20% on the cost of transportation going there and coming back. They offer a $100 gift card for only $80 on the Catalina Express, a luxury ferry that is in operation all year around and has numerous departures daily. On Catalina Island you can enjoy the beautiful warm weather without having to worry about renewing your passport, boiling your water to be potable, currency exchanges, TSA, jet lag, or political strife when you go to Catalina Island. You can check out the beaches, go camping, snorkeling, scuba diving, parasailing, ziplining, hiking, boating, etc. in Catalina Island. There's definitely enough outdoor activities in Catalina island that you can do. It's worth checking out if you need a vacation without going through all that trouble of traveling far away.

does Costco stop selling these gift cards& Or it is season action, and it stops selling at winter time, but in spring-starts again?

Hello @Oksi, I would assume that the Catalina Express gift cards from Costco may very well be a seasonal item. I did see these gift cards in May of 2015, so you may want to keep an eye out for them in the next few weeks. Hopefully, they'll show up again at your local Costco. Keep in mind that I did see the Catalina Express gift card at the Costco in Alhambra, CA and I would expect the other Costcos in Southern California would have it too. If you're in another part of the country altogether, you may not see these Catalina Express gift cards at your local Costco, so you may be out of luck if that's the case. Good luck!

can we use multiple gift card in one transaction? I need 15 tickets so I will be adding 10 gift card in one transaction. Doable?

Hi @Anonymous, my guess is that you can use multiple Catalina Express gift cards in one transaction. I say that because you're just purchasing gift cards from Costco, and I don't think the Catalina Express company will know that your gift cards came from Costco. The whole point of gift cards is to use them in place of cash regardless of how many you have. If you need some peace of mind, you can always just give them a call to make sure. That or you can go through the checkout process and see if there's a way to enter multiple codes (I've seen some retailers limit you to 3 gift card codes). If all else fails, you can always just separate the transactions. I hope this helps and let us know how it goes. Good luck!
